Supporting Our Community: Ducklings Preschools Fundraising for St Marks Meals

At Ducklings Preschool and Nursery, community is at the heart of everything we do. Across our Milton Keynes settings, we are proud to create a nurturing, supportive environment not only for our children, but for their families too. That’s why we are delighted to be launching a special fundraising initiative in support of St Marks Meals—a local charity making a real difference to families in our community.

What is St Marks Meals?

St Marks Meals is a Milton Keynes-based initiative with a simple but powerful mission: to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry.

The charity provides thoughtfully prepared meal kits designed to feed the whole family. Each box contains everything needed to cook a nutritious, balanced meal at home, including easy-to-follow recipe cards and even fun activities for children.

What makes St Marks Meals especially impactful is its accessibility. The service is available to any child and family who may benefit from extra support, with options tailored to different dietary needs—including vegetarian, gluten-free, and even meals suitable for households with limited cooking facilities.

By removing barriers to healthy eating, St Marks Meals helps families during challenging times while promoting togetherness, dignity, and wellbeing.

Why This Matters to Our Ducklings Families

Our Fundraising Event: Food-Themed Fun!

To raise awareness and funds for this incredible cause, we’re inviting all children and staff to take part in a fun and inclusive themed day, on June 18th 2026.

Participants can choose to:

• Dress up as their favourite food 🍓🍕

• Come dressed as if they’re heading out for a special meal 🍽️

• Or simply enjoy a relaxed non-uniform day 🎉

This event is designed to be accessible, creative, and enjoyable for everyone—while helping us spark conversations about food, community, and kindness.

Building Awareness Through Play and Participation

Fundraising events like this are about more than just donations—they’re about helping children understand the importance of helping others. Through play, imagination, and shared experiences, we can introduce even our youngest learners to values such as empathy, generosity, and community spirit.

By linking our theme to food, we also create an opportunity to talk about healthy eating, where food comes from, and why access to meals is so important for everyone.
